An update from our Vice President of Medical Services, Lola Marshbank:
As part of my role as VP of Medical Services, I have the honor of serving alongside the almost 30 medical professionals (RNs, RDMSs, ARNP, PA, MDs) who serve at Care Net of Puget Sound providing life-changing, life-affirming medical services through our 8 clinics.
I also coordinate closely with our two medical directors (OB-GYNs) who oversee all of the medical services at Care Net of Puget Sound.
2024 has been an amazing year for us, with an increased number of women reaching out for our services! So far this year, we’ve performed over 1,200 transformative ultrasounds, showing women the precious lives growing inside and empowering these women to choose life.
One of the many things I love about serving at Care Net is the blessing of caring for our clients’ spiritual needs through prayer. As of September 2024, our staff and volunteers have prayed with clients almost 4,000 times!
Our Medical Services are Expanding!
Since Care Net of Puget Sound’s launch in 1982, we have offered women in need of support 24/7 through our volunteer-staffed helpline!
Over 40 years later, our helpline continues to be an important part of the work we do, answering calls on weekends and evenings, and even during the middle of the night when women need us.
But now our 24/7 support has expanded!
24/7 Nurse Chat Now Available
At the end of last month, in partnership with a ministry called Infinite Worth, we launched a new 24/7 nurse chat box on our client website.
This is an exciting and significant step forward in our mission to reach more women considering abortion and providing them with compassionate, life-affirming support.
Infinite Worth has already launched nurse chats for over 300 pregnancy resource centers across the country and is helping these ministries engage more abortion-minded women online 24/7, so these women can choose life.
The chat is staffed by Washington-licensed nurses employed by Infinite Worth, who are aligned with the mission of Care Net and equipped to offer medical advice and share biblical truth.
The nurses:
- Facilitate a relationship with the woman by learning about her situation that’s propelling her to choose abortion.
- Explain to her the services Care Net of Puget Sound offers and does not offer.
- Encourage her to have an ultrasound and explore all her options.
- Schedule her for a free pregnancy consultation and ultrasound at the nearest Care Net of Puget Sound clinic so she can find support, encounter the life growing inside her, and ultimately, choose life!
In the first month since launch, we’ve already seen 2,500 people engage with this chat widget on our website and ad landing page, and 86 conversations initiated with the nurses! Praise God!
And a quick side note, with the launch of this nurse chat line, Care Net of Puget Sound’s own 24/7 volunteer-staffed helpline isn’t going away. Our helpline continues to be an important part of what we do. But now, women who are looking for answers after hours will have THREE options in how to reach out to us – call or text our 24/7 helpline or chat live with a nurse.
This expansion of life-affirming care is only made possible thanks to the generous partnership of people like you!
